Betta technique (Beg/Int)
A lot of people want to make a loud, strong sound when hitting taiko, but use strength and force that actually works against them and is not sustainable for long periods of time. Others sometimes struggle playing with consistency and quality.
This workshop focuses on the fundamentals of creating a solid strike that can be used on almost any style of taiko, but is taught on betta. A lot of the time will be spent on the components of a good strike: arm, elbow, wrist, hand, and fingers, and combined with a lot of focus on using the body as a whole in order to create a holistic, efficient strike. You’ll be able to play louder with less strength, longer with less effort, and faster with less tension!
